As an EPIC Predoctoral Fellow, you’ll gain access to a series of EPIC workshops and events:
EPIC Lunch Series
EPIC hosts weekly workshops that allow faculty, researchers and PhD students from a wide variety of disciplines to present their latest research to an audience of peers. In doing so, they can learn about research happening right on campus outside of their own domains and find areas that intersect with their research to make the research more robust. Learn more here.
The EPIC Seminar Series is a monthly speaker series that brings experts from throughout the nation and world to the University of Chicago to present cutting-edge research and trends on a wide variety of energy and environmental topics. These experts are often economists, scientists or engineers who work in academia, industry or government. Their expertise runs wide and deep, and serves to both inform and engage an interdisciplinary group of UChicago faculty and researchers, students, alums, and members of the local community.
The series takes place each month during the academic year. A reception will follow. Learn more here.
Student Lunch and Learn Series
Are you a UChicago student interested in energy, environment and climate issues? If so, come have lunch each week with young researchers from EPIC and the Center for Robust Decisionmaking on Climate and Energy Policy (RDCEP) at this interdisciplinary lunch and learn series. Participants will share their research, lead discussions, and hear from external speakers on energy and climate issues. If you’re interested in energy and climate, and want to meet fellow students from all levels and disciplines that share your interests, this is the group for you. No research experience required - you can just come and learn! Learn more here.
